A multigenerational relationship with Laughlin Performance & Physical Therapy!

4 generations of Laughlin Performance & Physical Therapy!
4 generations of Laughlin Performance & Physical Therapy!

When my high school-aged son broke his collarbone 11 years ago I reached out to our former swim coach, Danny Laughlin, and a multi-generational relationship began. Now myself, my husband, my mother, my stepfather, my daughter, my son and my mother-in-law see various trainers regularly at Laughlin Performance. Because we span four generations, my family members are seen for various therapies. People think PT is for rehabilitation after surgery or injury but for our family it’s more than that. While some of us go to work on strength and flexibility others have availed themselves to therapy for dizziness, balance training, pelvic floor PT and perinatal work. We trust and recommend the entire Laughlin Performance Team.

Physical therapy has no age limits. My son had just been released from PT from his collar bone when he broke a bone in his foot and went right back to Danny. Danny then recommended strength training. What I didn’t understand at the time was that some strength training would have a big impact on his muscle tone AND his self-esteem. Later when my husband was gearing up to have full hip replacements 7 weeks apart, he went to Danny ahead of time to strengthen key areas to help facilitate a smooth post-op recovery. For me, I am fairly new to weight bearing exercises. In the past I have worried about injury and for that reason didn’t really pursue it. Now with my physical therapist, she has shown me how to lift the weight properly and I have been able to add weight without that fear.

The Laughlin Performance team can meet anyone at any age where they are. We have all learned that our bodies are not to be feared but fine-tuned.
